If you ask about the symptoms of a heart attack, most people think of chest pain, however, scientists have learned that heart attack symptoms aren’t always so clear-cut.
Symptoms may show up in different ways and can depend on a number of factors, such as whether you’re a man or a woman, what type of heart disease you have, and how old you are.
The sooner you get help for a heart attack, the better your chances for a complete recovery.
You’re more likely to experience a heart attack if you’re a man. If you have a family history of heart disease or a history of cigarette smoking, high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol, obesity, or other risk factors, your chances of having a heart attack are even higher.
By scheduling regular checkups and learning to recognize the symptoms of a heart attack, you can help lower your risk of severe heart damage from a heart attack. This may increase your life expectancy and well-being.
Please take immediate action regarding the Proactive Health Management Plan in which you are enrolled through your employer.
Our records show that the weekly online health articles we’ve sent via email and text are not being opened. Activating this link alerts our system as to whether or not you are taking action in the program to stay compliant.
If your cellphone number or email address has changed, please contact us immediately so we may update your records. If there is a family member in your household that has a smartphone and/or email access and gives you permission to utilize their contact information, we can send the information to them. If you are utilizing a family member’s contact information, we must be informed of the person’s name for our records.
In order to stay compliant with the Proactive Health Management Plan, our minimum requirement is that you open at least one communication from the program each month. We will send additional benefits-related information periodically. Our goal is that you open each message about the PHMP so that you stay well informed.
